Former NXT Wrestler and Cruiserweight Classic Competitor Sean Maluta appeared on AEW: Dynamite. He wasn’t on for long and sure didn’t get much of a showcase.
Maluta faced Lance Archer. Facing Archer is not a fun appearance.
Maluta took some brutal offense. He took The Black Out and then took the Claw and multiple head slams.
There’s no word on if Maluta will be a regular on AEW or not. We’ll have to see if he appeared on AEW: Dark tapings.
We’ve seen AEW showcase talents on Dynamite only to have them become regulars on the show. Alan Angels, Ricky Starks, Griff Garrison, and Eddie Kingston all turned one-off appearances into full-time gigs.
Maluta is technically related to the famous Samoan family. He is the nephew of Afa one-half of the Wild Samoans.
Maluta last appeared for NXT in 2018 in a loss to Adam Cole. He’s certainly a talented wrestler and did a great job selling for Archer. We’ll just have to see what his future holds.
