It was announced last night that this weekend at All Out, we are going to see Sammy Guevara and Matt Hardy compete in the first-ever ‘Daily’s Place Deletion’ match. If Hardy loses, he will be forced to leave AEW.
Speaking of Hardy, the tag team specialist sat down for an interview with Chris Van Vliet recently, where he opened up about how WWE and Vince McMahon wanted to move him into a producer role with the company while he worked there:
“Vince and WWE, they already had it in their mind. In Vince’s mind, he was ready to move me on from being a talent into working backstage. Being a producer, helping give back and teach other guys behind the scenes. And I’m very happy to do that but a little later on. These last few years that I have to do this physically, I want to do it to the highest level that I can.”
While Hardy clearly isn’t able to move as quickly as he was 20 years ago, he still has something to offer in the ring and creatively in storylines, so it’s great to see that he wasn’t just moved into a producer’s role with the company.
