It was reported earlier today that NXT would be moving away from Full Sail University starting Sunday. The move would appear to end the brand’s eight-year run with the venue. However, it is not the only change coming to the production of the show.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider is now reporting that the show will air live every week in October. The report also notes that this is the plan going forward as well with taped shows being a thing of the past.
Since the start of the pandemic, NXT has been taped far more frequently. For a time this was done to get as much filming done at once as possible. However, now they will be going back to airing the show live as they had been doing since September 2019.
One of the most notable examples of NXT being taped came earlier this year at The Great American Bash. At the event, Keith Lee defeated Adam Cole to win the NXT Championship, a moment that an NXT star mistakenly posted to their Instagram story. If this had been live, no problem, but it was sent to air the following week.
