It was confirmed early on Friday morning that US President Donald Trump has tested positive for COVID. It was confirmed that the WWE Hall of Famer had been taken to hospital (or a local medical facility if you’re WWE) later that day.
Taking to Twitter, former WWE Champion and top AEW star Chris Jericho has condemned the people who have said that they hope the 74-year-old dies after testing positive for the potentially deadly virus.
Whether you like the president or not, people who are literally wishing him dead are out of line. Not cool. And Im not going to debate that….
This comes after Chris Jericho invited the President’s son, also called Donald Trump, onto his podcast earlier this year, a decision which Jericho was forced to take to Twitter to defend.
In a similar vein, fellow former WWE star Ryback seemingly also took to Twitter to fire back at those wishing death upon the President. He noted that “wishing death on anyone is never acceptable”:
Love and positive energy to the @POTUS and @FLOTUS and wishing death on anyone is never acceptable.
This is particularly interesting coming from Ryback, as the former WWE star recently said that “the world will be a better place” once Vince McMahon dies. This came just a few weeks after he said that the “world would be a better place without Dave Meltzer”.
