NXT Champion Finn Balor has taken to Instagram to provide more details regarding the recent surgery he had following TakeOver 31.
Balor suffered a broken jaw in two places during his championship defence against Kyle O’Reilly at TakeOver on October 4. There is no word on exactly how long Balor will be out for, but it could very well be a couple of months.

Last Friday, i underwent surgery for 2 fractures of my jaw, including one going into my tooth. After the tooth was removed, I was wired shut to restore my bite and help align the fractures. Then 3 plates where screwed in to fixate the fractures for a quick recovery. Thankfully no wires were needed after surgery!
NXT Title holders haven’t had the best of luck in recent times. Karrion Kross had to relinquish the strap after he suffered a separated shoulder during the match in which he won it against Keith Lee at TakeOver 30 in August.
As well as Finn Balor, there are also a number of other big names from NXT currently on the shelf including Tegan Nox with a torn ACL, Ridge Holland with an ankle dislocation & fracture, patellar dislocation, and ruptured patellar tendon, and O’Reilly due to contusions and a swollen liver (per the NXT injury report).
