Back in April, WWE laid off several wrestlers, staff members, and producers. Some folks were actually furloughed. This means they weren’t officially fired and the option remained for WWE to bring them back on if they wished.
One of those people furloughed was Dave “Fit” Finlay. According to a report from PWInsider, Finlay is back working in a producer role for WWE.
The report states he returned to work in the last week or so. Finlay is said to be backstage at tonight’s NXT Tapings and is working the show.
Finlay is credited with doing wonders for the women’s division in WWE. Natalya has credited him with being the women’s division’s secret weapon.
In an article she wrote in the Calgary Sun, Fit Finlay was quoted as saying the following about working with the women of WWE:
“I think it became important to me because I saw a need, and it seemed to me that the women’s division at that time was just standing still and spinning its wheels. I felt I had something to offer, not to teach anyone to wrestle like me, but to tap into what made each of the women special and to help identify their individual personalities.”
