Keith Lee Reveals Backstage Story Of Getting Punched By Vince McMahon

Current WWE Raw star Keith Lee has shared a backstage story anout getting punched by the company’s majority owner Vince McMahon.

After last night’s NXT TakeOver: WarGames a 24 documentary on Keith Lee aired on the WWE Network, and included a funny story from way back in 2009.

Lee was actually used as a security guard on Raw supposed to protect Legacy (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr) from McMahon, Triple H, and Shane McMahon.

He said that he’d been told by someone backstage to go down upon being punched by Vince, but in actuality, he probably shouldn’t have.

Lee said:

“Someone came up to me and was like if you’re getting punched by Vince McMahon, you need to go down. I’m like, hey no problem! And I’m pretty sure that whoever that was played a joke on me because the moment that the McMahons came down and Vince McMahon jawed me and when I say he jawed me, he JAWED me. So I go down and he looks confused. Of course! Why would the 300-pound dude go down from one punch? And when they were done with the others, it was like there was no way we’re done with the big guy! So they picked me up and I was like ‘What did I do to deserve this?!'”

There was also footage with McMahon and Lee together backstage in 2020 after his main roster debut, with Vince having some words of encouragement for Lee and noting his impressive work and promos, but saying he needs to ‘make him believe’.

Check out the segment and moment in question right here (Lee is the one that gets punched by Vince, obviously):
