Sting has been around wrestling long enough to be able to read a locker room. It also helps that the Icon has spent time in locker rooms in almost every major promotion in the last 30 years.
Since arriving in AEW earlier this month, Sting’s impact has already been felt. He has called out Darby Allin and apparently made enemies in the form of Team Taz. However, Sting has now opened up about how the AEW locker room reminds him of himself.
During his appearance on AEW Unrestricted, Sting spoke about how he sees the same attitude in AEW’s stars that he had during his career. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:
“When I first started, I didn’t want to do and be like the generation before me. I wanted to be different, and I was, and these guys I’m watching do the same thing. They’re different. They’ve changed the psychology, you know, how they tell a story, and they’re good. Very innovative.”
Over the years, Sting spent time in WWE, WCW, TNA, and the NWA before finally landing in AEW. Considering all the major names he crossed paths with, odds are he knows a thing or two about having the right attitude for success.
