Michael Elgin posted earlier this week a series of Tweets where he discussed some chair shots from Tama Tonga that he considered to be unsafe. Several news sites ran stories about these chair shots being the reason why Elgin ended his time in New Japan.
Tama Tonga promised to reveal on his podcast the real reason why Elgin left NJPW. Elgin beat him to the punch and revealed the real reason he left was to work on his home life and spend more time with his son. He denied claims of ever saying these were the reasons he left the company.
Elgin’s social media posts didn’t prevent Tonga from going on a verbal tirade against the former NJPW and IMPACT wrestler:
“The real reason that dumb*ss idiot Michael Elgin ain’t coming back to New Japan is because it’s his own stupid fault. This idiot he was contracted with [NJPW]. Our schedule was pretty busy. When contract season was coming up, he still had another year. This dumbass went and told New Japan, ‘Look, my son. I gotta spend more time. I can’t do this schedule. I gotta be home with my son.’
“New Japan, being the family company they are, let go of his contract and he went home. Soon after that he shows up at IMPACT. New Japan is blown away, ‘what the f— are you doing.’ The following month [Elgin] winds back in Japan working for All Japan. Elgin you are the biggest f—ing idiot I’ve ever seen in my life, bro.”
I wonder what he really thinks.
