One of the breakout performers of 2020 was Ben Carter. Having signed with WWE late last year, Carter has now cleared up some confusion regarding the circumstances of his signing.
Many people inferred that Carter was offered a WWE deal because of his work with All Elite Wrestling. He had a breakout performance against Scorpio Sky on Late Night Dynamite, as well as other noteworthy matches on AEW Dark.
However, he has not revealed that he had received an offer from WWE before appearing with AEW. Here is his tweet:
Just thought I’d clear something up real quick…
I had an offer from WWE 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 I appeared anywhere else, not after.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

After his AEW appearances, Carter signed with WWE and moved to their NXT UK brand. He made his debut on the show on January 7, 2021.
It remains to be seen what the plan for Ben Carter is on the brand. However, it was reported at the time of his signing that WWE had made a major play to sign him. One would assume they have plans for him, however, that is merely speculation.
