It’s been announced by NJPW that a top star has been pulled from all Castle Attack shows due to injury and will be out of action for months.
Last week, Hiromu Takahashi was pulled from a Road To Castle Attack event to assess the severity of a suspected injury. Not only has NJPW announced that Takahashi has suffered a left pectoral injury, it was also stated that he is expected to be out of action for around 6 months.
NJPW officially announced the injury on social media, providing a NJPWWorld link to the Road To Castle Attack shows. Noting that more information is to come, NJPW tweeted:
“BREAKING: After medical assessment, Hiromu Takahashi’s left pectoral injury will leave him out of action for an estimated six months. More information will follow.”
Takahashi is currently the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and was scheduled to defend the title against El Phantasmo on February 28. While this match has will not take place at Castle Attack this weekend, the fate of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship is uncertain.
Takahashi gave a short response after the announcement. Apologising to his fans, he tweeted:
“I’m sorry to everyone at Korakuen Hall.”

Tetsuya Naito is also dealing with a knee injury during the Castle Attack tour, but is currently still expected to face Kota Ibushi on Sunday.
