More details surrounding the AEW Revolution exploding barbed-wire deathmatch explosion botch have been discussed in a new report.
The final angle of AEW Revolution didn’t go to plan. Eddie Kingston ran down to the ring to shield Jon Moxley from the dangerous explosion. There was no giant detonation after the clock hit zero, however. After a small bang, the crowd booed at the anticlimactic finish.
It was previously reported that Kenny Omega was furious with this technical botch. A new report has noted that the rigging crew responsible received a lot of heat from the wrestlers.
According to Fightful Select, the third party team that were meant to ensure the explosion went off without a hitch weren’t that sympathetic after the botch. A source joked that the rigging team might’ve been more apologetic if they were the subject to the heat that the segment received live.
Fightful Select noted that they had attempted to contact AEW officials, but hadn’t gotten anybody on the record to comment.
The storyline explanation for the anticlimactic finish involved Omega building a dud bomb. On the latest episode of Dynamite, Omega came face to face with the newest AEW signing, Christian Cage.
