Peacock, the new home for WWE content in the US, has reportedly been editing out controversial moments from past WWE shows.
With WWE still fondly remembered for their Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression years, it comes as no surprise that WWE’s back-catalogue has it’s share of edgy content.
Since Peacock became the US home of WWE content earlier this month, it has been noticed that certain questionable segments have been removed. As first reported by PWInsider, moments such as the WrestleMania 6 Roddy Piper promo cannot be found on Peacock.
In this promo, Piper is painted half-black to mock his African American opponent Bad News Brown. The whole 7 minute match has also been removed.
Other moments that have been edited out include the Survivor Series 2005 segment where Vince McMahon drops the “N” word in front of Booker T.
Peacock will be making edits to any content that goes against their community standards and practices going forward. Because of this, fans will continue to notice changes and omissions in older WWE shows.
