A current AEW star has discussed his time working as a WWE extra, and the reason why this job was so difficult.
John Silver has already had an eventful AEW career. First wrestling for the company in 2019, the Dark Order member challenged Darby Allin for the TNT Championship in March.
Silver has wrestled for WWE as an enhancement talent on numerous occasions. His most recent appearance was on SmackDown in 2019 against Heavy Machinery.
Speaking on The Angle podcast, Silver called his time as a WWE extra awful. Noting that everyone backstage seems to walk on eggshells, Silver claimed that the only fun thing to do in WWE was to eat their catering.
Here is the full quote:
“It’s not a good feeling even though you’re happy to do it. There are plenty of people who are nice, but there’s also plenty that won’t even look at you like you better not even go near them. Like don’t contact them or they’ll bury you. It’s a little too much. In AEW, I like when people come up to me and say who they are and introduce themselves. You’re walking on eggshells constantly in WWE, and it’s really not a fun thing to do besides eat their catering. Doing extra work was awful there.”
Silver hasn’t wrestled since his TNT Championship match in March. Silver suffered a few injuries during the bout with Darby Allin.
With Kenny Omega winning the IMPACT World Championship, and Jon Moxley set to appear for NJPW, the “forbidden door” has been kicked wide open.
Andrade made his first major appearance since his WWE release last night at AAA Rey De Reyes. The former NXT Champion challenged Kenny Omega to a match at TripleMania for the AAA Mega Title.
