Some new details have come to light regarding AEW‘s plans for Double Or Nothing weekend with the show taking place on Sunday, May 30.
Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio that the promotion will be doing a four-hour live show on Friday, May 28.
This is because Dynamite that week is going to be at 10pm on the Friday due to the NBA. The taping will be 8pm-midnight, with about two hours of Dark/Elevation matches before Dynamite starts.
The following day, Saturday, May 29, there will be a “fan fest”, and then obviously the pay-per-view itself on Sunday, May 30.
Meltzer said:
“The 28th – it’s a Friday, that’s a lot easier than a Wednesday as far as drawing. So they’re doing the 28th for a four-hour show. They’re gonna start at 8(pm) and they’re gonna run till midnight, Because Dynamite’s gonna be 10-midnight, and they’re gonna do Elevation (before Dynamite) in front of a live crowd which I don’t think they’ve done at all. So that’s the 28th, and the 29th they’re gonna do a fan fest. So for travelers, you’re gonna be able to get a real weekend out of this thing, that’s the plan. And it’s Memorial Day weekend so that helps too.”
