With WWE set to return to a touring schedule on July 16, NXT will reportedly begin to host house shows again next month.
As per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT talent have been told that touring will resume with live events in Florida. It is thought that NXT plans to run events in the 200-400 seat venues NXT would visit before the pandemic.
The report also noted that it is believed that talent will be asked to be vaccinated as something mandatory. This is reportedly because it is thought that a mask ordinance will not be able to be enforced in the heavy right-wing markets that some shows will run in.
NXT’s return to touring will come after the next NXT TakeOver event. At NXT TakeOver: In Your House, Karrion Kross will defend the NXT Championship against Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne and Johnny Gargano.
LA Knight vs. Cameron Grimes has also been confirmed for the June 13 show. Knight and Grimes have been fighting over Ted DiBiase’s attention in recent weeks.
WWE returns to touring with the July 16 episode of SmackDown. Money in the Bank on July 18 will be the first WWE pay-per-view event to feature fans since WrestleMania 37.
