Current WWE United States Champion Sheamus has suggested the morale in the locker room isn’t down despite the recent releases.
There have been batches of releases for the past three months now as the company is looking to cut costs despite already making record profits.
Speaking with Vincente Beltran, Sheamus said:
“The locker room has just got to get on with it. I’ve been with the company 12 years. It’s part of the business, it happens. People come in and people go and you just got to get down with it. Every Monday, you got to get down, and you got to go out there and you got to perform.
“I don’t think the morale of the locker room is down. I think the morale is pretty good. I think it’s a lot better than it was when I first started. I think there’s a lot more comradery there right now than there ever has been.”
When you see the reaction of social media after some of the releases, it does make it hard to believe that what Sheamus is saying is completely accurate.
Perhaps that’s just how he feels, perhaps he’s being a company guy, who knows, but it certainly seemed that much of the locker room was affected by the past few months of surprising names being let go.
