Both NXT Champion Karrion Kross and North American Champion Bronson Reed are now on the list to be called up to the WWE main roster.
This was reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter and comes after they’ve each had two ‘tryout’ matches in the last week.
Kross worked with Dolph Ziggler at last Friday’s SmackDown and Shelton Benjamin at this past Monday’s Raw, while Reed worked with Robert Roode and Drew Gulak.
The most interesting thing to note was that Kross had a very stripped-back entrance for the Benjamin match that aired on Main Event, and didn’t have Scarlett with him.
There has been talk that Scarlett will have her own ‘tryout’ at tonight’s SmackDown, but it’s not yet been confirmed whether WWE will actually split them – they may have just been trying it out and realised how silly that would be.
Kross and Scarlett were still together on NXT TV this past Tuesday, and Kross is building to a match with Johnny Gargano, which will likely be on the July 6 Great American Bash show.
While not confirmed, the upcoming WWE Draft in August after SummerSlam seems like the time that call-ups will be made.
