Zelina Vega has commented on her WWE return during the July 2 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, after months away from the company.
During Friday’s show, Sonya Deville announced that Zelina Vega was to be added to the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Vega also wrestled Liv Morgan in her first WWE match since being released in November 2020.
Vega took to Twitter to let everyone know that her sights are set on the Money in the Bank briefcase. Detailing the takeaways from her return, Vega tweeted:
“What to take from tonight: I’m back. I’m going to be in the MITB ladder match. ..and I will win. Period. Everything else is irrelevant.”
Vega’s WWE release came shortly after she publicly protested WWE’s third party app ban. A number of her tweets, including the “I support unionization” post, have since been deleted.
Vega joins Asuka, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Nikki ASH, and Carmella in the women’s Money in the Bank line-up. Also on last night’s show, Kevin Owens qualified for the men’s ladder match.
Money in the Bank takes place on July 18. It will be the first pay-per-view since WrestleMania 37 to feature a live crowd.
