Current ROH World Champion RUSH has confirmed that he underwent knee surgery during a recent storyline suspension.
At the beginning of May, it was announced that RUSH, Dragon Lee, Kenny King and Bestia del Ring of La Faccion Ingobernable were suspended for a month.
ROH stated that the faction were suspended for “lawless actions” but RUSH has revealed that he took time away from wrestling to have surgery on his knee.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, RUSH said:
“After my suspension (a storyline where I and LFI were suspended for the month of May), I had surgery on my knee. I am now healthy and stronger than before. I’m back with a more powerful mentality, more violence, and I’m ready to cause even more destruction. My desire is to continue to be the best in the world.”
RUSH is set to defend the ROH World Championship against Bandido at Best in the World on Sunday. He has held the gold for almost 500 days in his current reign.
RUSH and Andrade El Idolo were two big names who pulled out of Federacion Wrestling’s debut show, before the event was postponed. Andrade recently revealed his reason for pulling out of the event.
