John Cena has commented on the rumours that his two-time WrestleMania opponent The Rock could be returning to WWE.
Cena himself returned at Money in the Bank to set up a SummerSlam match against Roman Reigns, and it’s been reported that Rock will be back at Survivor Series to set up a WrestleMania match against Reigns.
Rock himself has denied the rumours, but John Cena did discuss them in an interview with ET, saying:
“Dwayne Johnson is a star in his own universe. There is no one like him. There will never be anyone like him. For him to be gracious enough to return to WWE, its own global entertainment phenomenon, that’s great for WWE and it is great for The Rock.
“As a fan of WWE, I really hope he returns. I think it would be special for everyone.”
The reported plan is Rock vs Reigns at Mania, but a backup plan that WWE has discussed is a tag match with Rock and one of the Usos against Reigns and the other Uso, if Rock isn’t able to work a full singles match.
