It sounds like the mass WWE releases, specifically with NXT talent, may not be finished just yet, with the brand’s relaunch looming.
There have been reports that Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard will be producing the ‘new’ NXT, but ultimately nothing is known for certain yet.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that he’s heard some more names are on the “chopping block” to be let go, specifically people who have been in NXT for a while.
Meltzer said:
“I’ve certainly heard names on the chopping block. You don’t know until it happens, but I’ve definitely heard names. A lot of the guys who’ve been there for a long time are kind of… those are the names that have been talked about.”

As well as the look of NXT changing, the system will also be changing internally, with developmental to focus on signing and training bigger, younger athletes, with less of an emphasis on indie wrestlers.
