Wrestling veteran Aja Kong has recently been hospitalized in order to undergo surgery on her right knee.
Following Kong’s match for ‘Diana’ on Sunday (October 10), Kong revealed that she’d be stepping away from the ring for an operation where an artificial joint will be inserted into her knee, according to POST Wrestling.
On Monday, Kong took to Twitter to reveal that she had packed and prepared for hospital, thanking fans for their support. Kong previously had knee surgery in 2019, and chose to have an artificial joint inserted when the pain returned.
Speaking with Tokyo Sports, Kong stated that she has no plans to retire, saying:
“Can I continue working for only 5 or 10 years? Personally, I say that I will continue to be active for the rest of my life, so I will cure this (right knee). I will continue even when I am 80 or 90 years old.”
As per Tokyo Sports, Kong will remain in hospital for three weeks post-surgery.
We wish Aja Kong a safe and healthy recovery following her knee operation.
