An AEW star has undergone surgery today (April 2) to repair a torn pectoral muscle.
Just days ago, AEW star Ortiz revealed via Isiah Kassidy’s vlog that the reason for his ongoing absence from AEW TV was in fact a torn pectoral injury, one that he was due to have surgery to repair.
Now, courtesy of a new update from PWInsider, it has been confirmed that Ortiz has now underwent this surgery, and thankfully it was a success.
Ortiz last competed on TV back on the January 20 edition of Collision, where he and Eddie Kingston were defeated by the Blackpool Combat Club’s Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli.
Ortiz has been with AEW since its inception back in 2019, competing on the very first episode of Dynamite alongside his former partners in the Inner-Circle Chris Jericho and Mike Santana.
Despite being a dominant tandem in AEW’s early years, he and Santana never captured AEW Tag Team Championship gold, with the team later splitting due to real-life differences.
Santana, who departed AEW last month, recently addressed his current relationship with Ortiz – click here for his full comments.
WrestleTalk would like to wish Ortiz the best in his recovery.
