AEW is reportedly set to host a special on TNT on January 8, 2o22.
Per Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, AEW is looking to host a special on January 8 on TNT. AEW is not able to use the name ‘Clash of the Champions’, due to WWE owning the rights to that name.
AEW is instead planning on using the name ‘Battle of the Belts’ for the show, which is a name that was used by the NWA in the mid-80s.
AEW Dynamite is set to move to TBS on January 5, 2022, with quarterly specials set to take place on TNT. Battle of the Belts would seemingly be the first quarterly special on TNT.
