An update has come to light regarding the ongoing contract talks between former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano and WWE.
Gargano’s current contract with the company is set to expire on December 3, and in the most recent update, as of a couple of days ago, he hadn’t yet re-signed.
Johnny Gargano is in action on tonight’s episode of NXT 2.0 in a North American Championship three-way match with Pete Dunne and current champion Carmelo Hayes.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:
“If Gargano somehow wins, that to me would be a sign that he must have signed a new contract because his deal’s up December 3, and he had not signed as of a couple of days ago. So he would be favoured, unless that changes, he would be favoured to lose in this match – be the one that gets beaten.”

Meltzer previously reported in the Observer Newsletter a few days ago that WWE had made Gargano a “very strong” offer.
