AEW President Tony Khan has teased ‘more surprises to come’, noting that he plans to continue to oversee new AEW signings.
A number of notable names joined AEW in 2021, including Paul Wight, Christian Cage, Mark Henry, CM Punk, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson and Jay Lethal.
Speaking on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, Khan indicated that fans will see more top wrestlers become All Elite soon, noting:
“There’s more to come. Surprises to come. I plan to be still active in signing great wrestlers, and I think it’s a great time to be a fan.”
Following the November 4 wave of WWE releases, Khan stated that he was interested in a few names let go during these cuts. Talents with 30 day non-compete clauses (usually NXT contracts) released on this date recently became free agents, and those with 90 day non competes (main roster contracts) will officially leave WWE in February.
It has also been rumored that Windham Rotunda (fka Bray Wyatt) will eventually join AEW, however Khan previously said that he hadn’t had any formal meetings with Rotunda.
