The event will be headlined by Roman Reigns defending the Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar. This match was planned for WWE Day 1 instead of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view as the company reportedly wanted to make the January 1 show feel significant.
Big E is currently set to defend his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins, however advertising has hinted that a change will be made to this match.
The New Day will challenge The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Title, and Edge will go one-on-one with The Miz during the pay-per-view.
