A WWE veteran wrestler is reportedly livid with the company for allowing Johnny Knoxville to wrestle.
The Jackass star made his wrestling debut at WWE Royal Rumble last month, competing in the 30-man over-the-top-rope bout. It has also been speculated that Knoxville will return to the ring at WrestleMania 38 in April, following his post-Rumble confrontations with Sami Zayn.
On Fightful’s WWE Raw review show, Sean Ross Sapp noted that he has spoken with a current WWE name who is very upset that WWE has allowed Knoxville to wrestle, as Knoxville had previously suffered a brain haemorrhage. The veteran pointed out that WWE refused to medically clear Bryan Danielson for years due to his history of head injuries.
Sapp noted:
“I had a WWE veteran in my DMs this week very upset because they didn’t let Bryan Danielson wrestle for years, and they’re letting Johnny Knoxville wrestle when he had a brain haemorrhage. I mean, livid.”

Danielson retired from in-ring competition in early 2016, before returning to action full-time in 2018. The former WWE Champion has stated that his brief retirement came as a result of WWE learning more about his medical history. More at this link.
Danielson currently wrestles for AEW, but has previously admitted that he believes his current contract will be his last as a full-time performer.
