Corey Graves has hinted that a’familiar face’ will return to the company on the road to WrestleMania 38 in April.
The WWE announcer fuelled speculation on After The Bell, noting:
“And who knows, if the rumors do in fact prove to be true, we may have another familiar face back in the fold between now and The Showcase of the Immortals. This is one of those ones where: if you know, you know. I’m not going to speak to it any longer.
“I’m going to feed the rumor mill, that’s what I’m doing, I’m feeding the rumor mill. I’m stoking the flames and I am pouring gas on the fire. If the rumors are true, I couldn’t be more thrilled.”
Graves could be referring to a number of stars. Following his shock AEW departure, Cody Rhodes is expected to return to WWE, per a number of sources.
Several reports also claim that Stone Cold Steve Austin is set to face off against Kevin Owens at the April 2-3 event. Owens has recently been insulting the state of Texas on social media, leading some to believe that the Austin will return to shut the Raw star up.
A surprising name reportedly scheduled to compete at WrestleMania 38 is WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, who’s currently on the internal match schedule for the event.
We’ll have to wait and see how many ‘familiar faces’ show up on Raw and SmackDown ahead of April 2 & 3.
