Former WWE NXT UK star Killer Kelly has provided some clarification on her status with IMPACT Wrestling.
A vignette aired on Thursday’s episode of IMPACT, hyping Kelly’s return to the promotion.
Kelly made her IMPACT debut in November 2020, following her WWE release in January. She last wrestled for the promotion that December.
Speaking with Steve Fall for SEScoops, Kelly confirmed that she actually signed an IMPACT deal back in November 2020:
“On that same day that I wrestled, I got offered a deal. So I’ve been contracted for the past two years.”
Explaining why she hasn’t appeared on IMPACT TV since late 2020, Kelly said:
“Well, you have to ask the good ol’ United States of America. Its legalities, legalities, legalities…It was a very tedious process, which impact dealt with wonderfully. They took care of everything, but it was a horrible process. They were wonderful about it. After they offered the contract, I had to go back to Portugal. Then I was stuck in Portugal.
“They did everything in their power to get me out of Portugal. It was a visa process that started in Portugal, and then it didn’t pan out. Then I had to come to the United States and start all over again. It was a whole process. But finally, I can say that I’m part of Impact. I can finally work and I am excited.”
Kelly was previously signed to WWE between 2018 and 2020, making appearances on NXT UK, and competing in the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament.
Many on-screen names have left WWE since Kelly’s departure, with over 20 stars finishing up with the company this year alone. Check out a list of every WWE departure of 2022 at this link.
