On last week’s episode of WWE Main Event, former tag team partners Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin went one-on-one against each other, officially spelling the end of their tag team.
However, Cedric Alexander wasn’t alone for very long at all, as he and Mustafa Ali officially debuted as a tag team on tonight’s WWE Raw show.
Ali and Cedric had trial runs as a team on Main Event after years of teasing an alliance on Twitter, bonding over their days together as the heart and soul of 205 Live back in 2018. The two famously faced each other on the WrestleMania 34 kick-off show, impressing John Cena in the crowd.
The new duo didn’t get off to a winning start however, coming up short against the duo of The Miz and Ciampa.
Another new alliance also formed on tonight’s show, as Alexa Bliss and Asuka picked up the victory against Nikki A.S.H and Doudrop in the opening match of the show to advance in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament.
