Newly Drafted WWE Star Sends Message To GUNTHER

Ilja Dragunov is set to bring his unique style to the main roster after the April 29 edition of the 2024 WWE Draft saw him called up to Raw.

The former NXT Champion and two-time NXT United Kingdom Champion responded to the call-up in comments shared on WWE social media and that can be seen below.

Reflecting on his journey through NXT brand since he signed back in January 2019, Dragunov said:

“I have no words. NXT became my home. These people, a lot of these people, became a home away from home for me.

“But now it’s time for my next chapter, and I have to make a promise. One promise that I already kept here.

“In every place I come to, I push the place to the next level. That’s what I do. That’s what I did with NXT. This is the same thing I do when I come to Raw, with incomparable passion and intensity.

“Trust me, no one is prepared, and no one is safe anymore when ‘The Mad Dragon’ arrives.”

He would also have a message for his NXT UK rival Gunther, saying:

“I think there’s just one word that explains it all. Destiny.”

Dragunov brought an end to Gunther (then WALTER’s) reign as NXT United Kingdom Champion at NXT TakeOver 36 in August 2021.

The pair had crossed paths previously in NXT UK although their history stretches back to wXw in 2013 with matches also taking place at PWG and PROGRESS.
