WWE SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee has signed a full-time deal with ESPN, and will help host “College GameDay”, which is a show about college football.
The news was first reported by the New York Post, and has since been confirmed by McAfee, as you can see below.
It’s an absolute honor 2 have this tweet tweeted about me.

As the Post reports, this will not affect McAfee’s SmackDown work each Friday, but it may well affect his ability to commentate on WWE Premium Live Events if they are on a Saturday.
He had hinted at the announcement earlier this week in a very grateful tweet, as you can see.
My life is dumb. If I was 2 die tomorrow, right b4 passing I’d be proud & dumbfounded of what I have been lucky enough 2 do.
Massive announcement coming at some point this week..truly Bananaland.
Have a great night beautiful people.

McAfee has become a very popular member of WWE’s broadcast team, and may well go down in history as the last person to wrestle a match against Vince McMahon.
