The AEW women’s division received a boost back at AEW Grand Slam, when Saraya (the former Paige in WWE) made her AEW debut, coming to the ring to help Toni Storm and Athena being attacked by Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter and Rebel.
The following week on Dynamite, Saraya cut her first promo since her arrival in AEW, where she brought out several stars of AEW’s women’s division, before she ended up in a war of words with Britt Baker and her crew.
The segment was followed by an interim AEW Women’s World Championship match, in which Toni Storm retained against Serena Deeb, with Willow Nightingale and Jamie Hayter chasing each other off, leading to a match between the two on Rampage, which Hayter won.
Following the segment, AEW has now announced a six-woman tag team match, pitting Toni Storm, Athena and Willow Nightingale, with Saraya in her corner, against Rebel, Serena Deeb and Jamie Hayter, with Britt Baker in their corner.
Next week’s AEW Dynamite show is set to serve as the anniversary episode of the show, and will overrun by 15 minutes.
