Chris Jericho has liked a tweet criticising CM Punk, in the wake of the incident following AEW All Out 2022 which saw Punk suspended.
The incident, which took place on September 4, saw CM Punk verbally attack several members of the AEW locker room as part of an interview during the post-AEW All Out media scrum.
Following the interview, Punk was involved in a physical altercation backstage with several others including Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, and Punk former partner and trainer Ace Steel.
The incident saw all parties involved suspended, and the AEW World and AEW Trios World Championships being vacated, with Steel since being released from the company following the incident.
Adding fuel to a fire that has been burning for the past several weeks, Jericho liked a tweet from a fan which said the following:
“Imagine that you’re CM Punk. You’ve had one of the most triumphant comebacks ever in the history of wrestling. You’ve been promoted as the star you never got to be in WWE. And within a year, you completely ostracize yourself, becoming so toxic that you’re not worth having around.”
Reports have recently suggested that AEW is not looking to bring Punk back from his suspension, with a buy out of his contract.
Jericho currently reigns as the Ring of Honor World Champion, recently defending the title against Dalton Castle on AEW Dynamite.
