There has been more information revealed on the falling out between the National Wrestling Alliance and former NWA Worlds Champion Nick Aldis.
Aldis announced yesterday (November 6) that he had handed in his notice to the NWA, with the company then suspending Aldis earlier today.
The suspension takes Aldis off the upcoming Hard Times 3 pay-per-view, as well as the subsequent television tapings the following day.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has provided more information on the origin of the falling out between the two sides.
Fightful were scheduled to interview Aldis today ahead of this weekend’s NWA Hard Times 3 event, which has now been postponed due to Aldis’ suspension from the NWA.
In postponing the interview with Fightful, Aldis said that it was Billy Corgan’s disrespect towards Mickie James, the wife of Nick Aldis, in the lead up towards and following the NWA Empowerrr event that was a huge reason for the relationship between the two sides souring.
It was also noted that the two sides had not spoken publicly about the issues due to Aldis’ spot as one of the top stars in the company.
Fightful has also heard from numerous women who regularly appeared in the National Wrestling Alliance who also felt disrespected by Corgan and Trevor Murdoch’s claims that there ‘wasn’t enough depth’ or ‘enough women that could work the NWA style’ to do a follow up NWA Empowerrr event.
