A recent AEW signee has commented on working with MJF.
On October 12, Tony Khan announced that Renee Paquette had signed with All Elite Wrestling.
Since then, Paquette has interviewed a litany of All Elite Wrestling’s top stars including her husband Jon Moxley’s rival Maxwell Jacob Friedman, better known as MJF.
Speaking on the latest episode of AEW Unrestricted, Renee Paquette was asked about MJF’s impression of her husband during their interview on the October 26 edition of Dynamite.
She answered:
“It was actually a pretty good impression, not that we’re surprised by that, MJF is MJF, he’s a world-class performer.”
Paquette continued on to note that she didn’t see the impression prior to going out in front of the fans, saying:
“Obviously, I didn’t see it prior to going out, I didn’t see him going over it or anything. Me seeing it out there for the first time and being able to hear what he was saying, anytime someone does the Jon mannerism that’s the big shoulder movement, is pretty fun.”
“The lower brow, skulking around, MJF did his due diligence in his Jon Moxley performance. Little shit.”
The AEW backstage interviewer concluded on by noting that she was happy to do an interview with MJF so early into her run with the company.
Paquette said:
“I was happy to see that I was doing a promo early on with MJF because I kind of wanted to witness what he does up close like that.”
“I was talking to him ahead of time, and I used to do a lot of promos with Paul Heyman, and that kind of performance, I like being able to work with people like that because it gives me so much to do, even if it’s just a small facial reaction, I love getting to do stuff like that. It was fun getting to do some of that stuff with MJF.”
Renee Paquette has been used in a variety of different roles including sitdown interview segments and backstage interviews on AEW TV.
Meanwhile, Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship against MJF at Full Gear on November 19.
