Legendary WWE and pro-wrestling referee Earl Hebner has said that he believes he deserves a place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Hebner was part of many of WWE’s most iconic moments, including the Montreal Screwjob, Andre The Giant’s controversial WWE World Heavyweight Championship win over Hulk Hogan, and Mick Foley’s first WWE Title win against The Rock which tipped the scales in WWE’s favour during the Monday Night Wars.
He was released from the company in 2005, after being accused of selling WWE merchandise without the company’s permission.
He later refereed in TNA, the independent circuit, and AEW.
Speaking to his son Brian Hebner on his podcast Refin’ It Up, Earl was asked if he believed he should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame:
“Yeah, I would consider it. All the stuff that I’ve done in this business and made a lot of the matches what they are. I think I deserve to be in there. But whether I do or not, it’s up to them.”
Hebner most recently appeared at IMPACT Wrestling’s Slammiversary 2022, to give the IMPACT Originals the win against Honor No More.
