WWE has seemingly confirmed that an absent star will be returning to the SmackDown brand soon.
WWE star Robert Roode has not wrestled on WWE television since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the WrestleMania SmackDown show on April 1.
Roode underwent surgery in September, with WWE hoping to have the former NXT Champion back ‘soon’.
Rumours emerged that Roode would be returning to the SmackDown roster when he returned to the company, seemingly splitting his team with Dolph Ziggler.
Roode was backstage on the November 11 episode of the show, but never appeared on screen.
However, we now appear to have official confirmation from WWE themselves that Roode is heading to the blue brand.
WWE shared a photoshoot of various WWE stars supporting their countries for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The shoot featured many WWE stars including Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley and Asuka.
Roode was featured supporting Canada in the shoot.
However, the shoot took place at Raw and SmackDown, with the stars of the Raw brand having a red background with the Raw logo featured, and the SmackDown stars having a blue background with a SmackDown logo featured.
Well, guess what background Roode’s photo had?
Roode last wrestled at a WWE live event in June.
His support for his nation appears to be all for nothing, as Canada have already been eliminated from the tournament.
