AEW World Champion MJF broke character to support a fellow AEW star in a now-deleted tweet.
MJF almost always posts on social media in character, making it all the more interesting when he doesn’t.
On the January 13 edition of AEW Rampage, Anna Jay & Tay Melo battled Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale in a brutal street fight.
The team of Soho & Nightingale picked up the win after Soho planted Melo into a pile of thumbtacks with her Destination Unknown finisher.
The competitors were met with some backlash following the bout, with some criticising a botched table spot, which saw Willow and Anna Jay barely connect with the table.
MJF took to Twitter to address the backlash, and support Anna Jay.
He wrote:
What we do is real.
Our lives can end in that ring in an instant.
Anna Jay put her body on the line for your entertainment and you have the balls to criticize her.
That’s why I don’t rush to please the internet fans. I rush to please my wallet.
Okay, maybe that very last part was in character again.
MJF recently shared photos capturing his impressive body transformation, comparing his physique from before his 2022 hiatus to his current body.
He has yet to wrestle this year, most recently defending his AEW World Title against Ricky Starks at Dynamite: Winter Is Coming in December 2022.
