A former WWE name has revealed the plans that would have seen a current Raw Champion teaming with an unlikely partner.
Former WWE writer Chris Dunn was recently on the Public Enemies Podcast and revealed the plans for the tag team of Bianca Belair and Billie Kay.
Dunn explained that, following Belair’s late 2020 feud with Bayley that would end in January 2021, he was looking for the next program to work with her, saying:
“I got looking into putting a tag team together with her and Billie Kay.”
At the time, Billie Kay was trying to establish herself with the WWE locker room.
She would hand out resumes and headshots to fellow superstars in the hope that someone would team with her.
Dunn saw the potential in teaming Billie Kay with Bianca Belair, saying:
“I thought we can kind of do like a modern Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection with them. It would’ve been awesome.”
Before the idea could get off the ground, Belair would be called up to the main roster and would eventually go on to win the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match, eliminating Rhea Ripley.
Billie Kay would eventually be released by WWE in April 2021 and would appear with her former The IIconics tag partner Peyton Royce.
In April 2022, the pair would ask for their release from Impact Wrestling.
