A vicious championship battle kicked off tonight’s big debut for AEW Dynamite (February 22) in Phoenix, Arizona.
Blackpool Combat Club kicked off AEW Dynamite with a bang as Wheeler Yuta challenged Orange Cassidy for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship.
With a mid-match redirection to sheer violence from Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta kicked up to a new level as a brutal battle ensued.
With a very physical contest nearly exhausting the pair, the twenty minute time limit loomed as the match even included some face spitting!
A wild series of near falls as Yuta kicked out of an Orange Punch and then subsequently a Beach Break but finally was put away with a second and even more ferocious Orange Punch.
Picking up the victory, Orange Cassidy retained the AEW All-Atlantic Championship.
With Taz on commentary specifically mentioning Wheeler Yuta’s edge after the talk from Castagnoli, after the match Orange Cassidy reached out for a hug from his former friend.
However, when Castagnoli came to the ramp and commanded Yuta leave, he obliged and joined Claudio on the ramp to celebrate instead.
