Paul Heyman has now reacted to a tease that UFC star Conor McGregor could show up at WrestleMania 39.
McGregor recently appeared on the MMA Hour podcast to speak with Ariel Helwani about his career ahead of his return to the Octagon.
Following the interview, Helwani shared a photo of himself and McGregor, with McGregor holding a replica Money in the Bank briefcase.
Hinting that the MMA star could soon step into the squared circle, Helwani captioned the photo:
Next stop … ‘Mania?
Roman Reigns’ Special Counsel Paul Heyman has reacted to the tease, arguing that McGregor would be no match for the Tribal Chief.
Retweeting the post, Heyman wrote:
@TheNotoriousMMA would get SMASHED just like anyone else who dares to oppose the #TribalChief @WWERomanReigns!
A Conor McGregor WWE run was teased by McGregor and Triple H in 2021. Triple H now runs WWE creative as the company’s Chief Content Officer.
At WrestleMania 39, Reigns will defend his WWE Undisputed Universal Championship against Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes.
This year’s Money in the Bank event will take place in London UK, at the O2 Arena on July 1.
WWE is returning to the UK for this highly-anticipated premium live event, following the success of Clash at the Castle, which emanated from the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales in September 2022.
