An AEW star is set to challenge for the AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania Monterrey.
AAA will host their first of three TripleMania events this coming Sunday, April 16 in Monterrey. It was previously announced that El Hijo Del Vikingo would defend his AAA Mega Championship in the main event of the show, but fans now know who will challenge him for the gold.
FITE TV lists the Mega title match as Vikingo defending against Komander, IMPACT Wrestling’s Rich Swann and AEW star Swerve Strickland in a four-way match. AAA has yet to officially announce the bout.
Swerve Strickland recently announced a merger of his Mogul Affiliates group with The Embassy. He will face Darby Allin on the April 12 edition of AEW Dynamite.
Meanwhile, Vikingo is coming off the heels of successfully defending the AAA Mega Championship against Komander at ROH Supercard of Honor in Los Angeles.
