AEW may have potentially cancelled one of its in-ring shows, following reports that the company will soon introduce a new brand.
As of writing (April 26), AEW has four weekly shows for fans to get their wrestling fixes. The promotion’s flagship show is Dynamite, which airs every Wednesday on TBS.
AEW’s other TV show Rampage typically airs on TNT every Friday.
The promotion also has two YouTube shows, with Tuesday’s ‘Dark’ show usually featuring matches that were pre-taped for the brand.
Similar to Dark, Dark Elevation features pre-taped matches, but usually with more unsigned names or local talents appearing.
We may have just had a hint that AEW plans to end Dark Elevation, or at least shelve the show.
This week’s (April 24) edition was a special ‘Best of Elevation’ show, featuring nine matches that aired on previous episodes since its debut in 2021.
In the description of the show shared by FITE TV, the episode was advertised as the “final” edition of Dark Elevation.
FITE shared the following description for the episode:
Don’t miss the Special and final episode of Elevation – it’s Best of Elevation airing on FITE! The episode is throwing it back to some of the best matches that have graced our Monday nights over the years!
AEW has yet to officially confirm that this was the final episode of Elevation.
The episode opened with Tony Schiavone and Excalibur paying tribute to the show, noting that many AEW names used Elevation as a proving ground.
It definitely felt like a look back at the show as if it may have been coming to an end, but that wasn’t actually said.
You can watch the “best of” Elevation episode including that aforementioned introduction below this article.
Among the nine matches included are Jon Moxley, Darby Allin & Eddie Kingston vs RSP & Chaos Project, Minoru Suzuki vs QT Marshall, and Andrade El Idolo vs Frankie Kazarian.
AEW is reportedly preparing to launch a new show that will air on Saturdays, which will likely be called Collision, indicated by recent trademark filings.
