WWE has now announced the return of Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, following his recent absence from TV.
This week’s (May 8) edition of Raw was the first episode with the official post-draft roster.
Despite Imperium getting drafted to WWE Raw, GUNTHER didn’t appear on Monday’s episode.
It was announced that GUNTHER will ‘debut’ on Raw next week (May 15), by his Imperium stablemates Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.
GUNTHER hasn’t wrestled since the April 21 edition of SmackDown, when he defended his Intercontinental Championship against Xavier Woods.
The Ring General has since married former NXT UK star Jinny, with the couple’s wedding taking place during the last weekend of April.
The duo have been sharing photos from their honeymoon in Italy on social media.
While the bout is being marketed as GUNTHER’s Raw debut, the top star has previously wrestled for the Red Brand on several occasions, most recently defeating Dolph Ziggler on March 27.
With GUNTHER’s time off, the Intercontinental Champion missed a big international show, the May 6 WWE Backlash 2023 premium live event.
Full results from Backlash were as follows:
Raw Women’s Championship – Bianca Belair (c) def. IYO SKY
Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins def. Omos
United States Championship – Austin Theory (c) def. Bobby Lashley, Bronson Reed
SmackDown Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) def. Zelina Vega
San Juan Street Fight – Bad Bunny def. Damian Priest
Solo Sikoa & The Usos def. Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens & Matt Riddle
Cody Rhodes def. Brock Lesnar
