AEW EVP Kenny Omega has named the star who he honestly believes deserves the title of ‘MVP of AEW’.
With AEW only existing for a number of years, several stars have been crucial for the brand’s rapid growth.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Omega noted that he doesn’t believe that he has been AEW’s most valuable player.
Believing that Jon Moxley deserves this nod, Omega said:
“If I’m being honest, the MVP of AEW hasn’t been me, it’s Jon Moxley.
“For AEW, Jon’s been the one. He’s been at almost every show. He’s bled at almost every show. There is no one higher on the blood-giving list.
“Maybe that’s what makes this feud so interesting. It’s someone with the notoriety from Japan against someone who was a top player from WWE.
“And Jon hasn’t stopped working. I was injured, but now that I’m healed up, it’s beautiful that we can restart the song and dance between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley.”
Omega and Moxley will face off in a steel cage match on Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite.
The card for the May 10 edition of AEW Dynamite is as follows:
No Holds Barred – Julia Hart vs. Anna Jay
Open House Rules match for the AEW Trios Championship – House of Black (c) vs. Bandido & Best Friends
AEW International Championship – Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Daniel Garcia
Double Jeopardy Match – Claudio Castagnoli vs. Rey Fenix
Steel Cage Match – Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley
