It was anarchy indeed as Anarchy in the Arena broke out in Las Vegas as the final match of AEW Double or Nothing 2023 stole the show.
With the Elite (Nick and Matt Jackson, Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page) facing off against Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta) there was truly an unprecedented level of violence.
In the end, Don Callis rushed the ring and was about to face comeuppance from Kenny Omega when instead Omega was attacked by a masked assailant.
The attacker was revealed to be Konosuke Takeshita, who went on to put out Omega, priming Wheeler Yuta to get Omega in a seatbelt pin for the victory.
After the match, Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita celebrated in the ring with the BCC although it certainly appeared that Moxley was nonplussed by their continued presence.
There were a variety of cool spots throughout that are worth checking out if you missed the match including an exploding superkick and some barbed wire shenanigans, not to mention a live band playing Moxley’s theme song, Wild Thing, until the lead singer ate a big double Superkick from the Young Bucks to end the jam session.
Elsewhere already on AEW’s pay-per-view AEW Double or Nothing, Orange Cassidy looked to defend the AEW International Championship, while there was another title change on the night as well.
Also, after making a surprise return, find out what AEW star is leaving AEW Double or Nothing as a brand new champion after an impromptu match kicked off.
