MJF has shared his honest thoughts on the AEW World Championship match not going on last at Double or Nothing 2023.
At the May 28 pay-per-view, MJF defended his gold against Sammy Guevara, Jack Perry and Darby Allin. With these stars previously touted as the ‘four pillars’ of AEW, many expected this match to be the main event of the show.
Instead, the Anarchy in the Arena match between The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club was the final match of the event.
Speaking during the post-show press conference, MJF explained why he was okay with this call.
Believing that the idea that the world title has to headline is dead, MJF said:
“No. Why the f**k would I want to roll around in Jon Moxley’s blood? I’m f**king good. No thanks.
“Also, realistically whether it’s this company or WWE I think the world title having to go on last kind of is dead in wrestling. But yeah, I’d rather not, like run around in all that f**king mid-blood. \
“Like can we can we get real? It’s f**king disgusting. Wheeler Yuta was in that match. You think I want to roll around the Wheeler Yuta Blood?”
Double or Nothing ended with a big heel turn, which you can read more about right here.
